As the year is gradually coming to an end, Nigerian artiste Orezi seems to be celebrating the end of the year in a grand style as he recently celebrated the arrival of his new car via his Instagram page recently.

The sensational singer, has acquired for himself, a brand new red, Rang Rover and posted the photos on his instagram page on Instagram with Wizkid and music producer Del B who were there to share in his happy moment.

The Rihana crooner, also went ahead to share that he is much wealthier since he dropped his version of Shoki.

Supporters protest alleged plot to impeach Fayose

Hundreds of supporters of the Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, on Friday trooped to the streets, protesting alleged plan by members of the state House of Assembly to impeach the governor.

The protesters, under the aegis of Positive Minds Club for Teachers, converged on Fajuyi Park in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, with placards bearing various inscriptions criticising the Assembly.They proceeded from the popular Fajuyi Park to Ijigbo roundabout where they were addressed by two of their leaders.

Some of the placards read, “No to impeachment,” “We want peace in Ekiti,” “Return the N100m bribe to your leader,” “No going back on June 21 election result” and Tinubu stay away from Ekiti,” among others.

The group’s President, Mr. Ojo Patrick, and Treasurer, Mr. Bello Akande, vowed to mobilise the people of the state to move against any plan to remove the governor.Patrick said, “It is a peaceful protest and the police are here to ensure that the protest is not hijacked. We are going to maintain peace throughout the protest.

“We just want to show to all Ekiti people that we stand by the result of the last governorship election and our mandate.

“If the members of the House of Assembly want us to come and dialogue with them, we are ready. We learnt that they went for a meeting in Lagos State with Tinubu and each of the lawmakers collected N50m while the Speaker got N100m to impeach the governor and to make sure that Ekiti State is made ungovernable for Fayose.”

Patrick, however, appealed to the lawmakers “in the interest of all Ekiti people to stay clear of any move to impeach the governor.”

The state House of Assembly had on Thursday at a press meeting denied collecting money to remove the governor.The Majority Leader of the Assembly, Mr. Churchill Adedipe, said the meeting they held in Lagos was to discuss the forthcoming All Progressive Congress presidential primary.

Resort housekeeper to hang for killing employer

The Ipoh High Court in Malaysia today sentenced a 24-year-old former housekeeper to death by hanging for murdering his employer six years ago.

Senior judge Datuk Zainal Adzam Abd Ghani, who was retiring from the judiciary today, ruled that the prosecution had proven its case against Hamzah Osman beyond reasonable doubt.

Hamzah was found guilty of murdering Norazuda Iden, 31, around 1am at Room 202, Suria Beach Resort, Teluk Nipah, Pulau Pangkor on Aug 18, 2008.

Norazuda, who was resort manager and wife of the resort owner, was then five-month pregnant.

Zainal Adzam said the defence, led by Datuk Naran Singh, failed to raise reasonable doubt on the prosecution's case especially pertaining to alibi and other evidential proofs.

I don’t mind dating a younger man now –Ara

Single drummer girl, Ara, has said she is ready to give marriage another shot now that she and her once Iceland-based hubby have divorced.In an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats recently, Ara said she wouldn’t even mind going for a younger guy if he comes around her.

“When I meet the right person and fall in love, I will consider marriage. I really want to fall in love again. I don’t believe in marriage just for its sake. If a younger guy comes up to me, I don’t mind dating the person. I don’t mind marrying somebody who I am older than. I have spoken to a couple of people and they don’t see anything wrong with it. If the person has a mature mind and is committed, then it is not a big deal.”

When asked if she is not looking for somebody who she can control and manipulate, the singer said she is not the overbearing type and she never exhibited such trait in her former marriage.

“I am not that kind of person. I am the most submissive wife. I am ‘mumu’ for love. You can ask my ex, he can tell you. There was never a day I didn’t ask him what I should cook even though I was the breadwinner. I would always ask him what he wanted. And whatever he said, if we didn’t have it, I would jump on an okada and enter the market to go and buy the stuff. I am a hopeless lover,” she said.

Ara revealed that she and her ex are still “good friends” because, “we have a child together. My boy is six years already. He has remarried. I am not envious that he got married again. God forbid! When he calls me, I always ask him if his wife isn’t around. I would also ask him if his wife knows that I am not interested in him. I don’t know her and I don’t know her name. I wouldn’t want her to feel I want to take her husband again. So I tell him I hope the wife knows that I am not interested and that his calling me is just to find out about his son. I wouldn’t want to make any woman unhappy.

Bombers, herdsmen kill 36 in Bauchi, Nasarawa

At least 36 people have been killed in three   separate   attacks by gunmen and suspected cattle rustlers in Bauchi and Nasarawa states.

Fifteen of them were victims of twin bomb blasts in a crowded motor park along Kano Road in Azare, Bauchi State on Wednesday evening.The   blasts happened shortly after information filtered into the town that a man identified simply as Matthew was   killed at about 9pm same day in Fur, Bogoro Local Government Area of the state.

The attackers were said to have taken away Matthew’s head and one leg.

Although the state police command put the death toll at five, an   eyewitness told Punch correspondent that he counted 15 bodies at the scenes of the blasts.He added that several others were critically injured while many shops and vehicles in the park were destroyed.

The witness said, “As I am talking to you, there are about 15 bodies on the ground following the bomb blasts. Several others were injured and I can confirm to you that the situation is so bad. Some of the   bodies were burnt beyond recognition   and they they can hardly   be put together for burial.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed, who   said on Thursday that   five persons were burnt beyond recognition, added that the injured were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Azare for treatment.Mohammed said that the area   had been cordoned off by the Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit from the state Command headquarters in Bauchi.

Regretting the incident, he assured the residents of the state that the police had commenced   investigation   with a view to ascertaining and arresting the bombers.He urged resident to always report strangers and people with questionable character   to security agencies.

Punch correspondent also gathered that 20 people were slaughtered in Kampany and Bakun Allu in Lafia LGA of Nasarawa State,   by   Fulani herdsmen on Tuesday night,during the three-hour attack which began at about 11pm, the herdsmen also burnt 40 houses and left hundreds of residents displaced.

A military source, who craved anonymity,   said   the attack was carried out like the Boko Haram insurgents.

Sudanese Ambassador to Nigeria dies In Abuja

The Sudanese ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Tagelsir Ali, has died. The Media Advisor to the Sudanese embassy in Nigeria, Mr Mohammed Abdulrahman, who confirmed his death told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, that Dr Ali died in the early hours of today October 24th at the National Hospital, Abuja where he was being treated from malaria.

“He had malaria. There were some complications and he passed away around 1 a.m. early this morning. There is a Presidential jet coming by 5 p.m. to take the remains to Sudan for burial. He was 66 years old. He loved working in Nigeria and had zeal to develop the bilateral relationship between Sudan and Nigeria and was able to stretch himself very well,” Abdulrahman said. May his soul rest in peace Amen

Mali becomes sixth West African nation hit by Ebola

Mali confirmed its first case of Ebola on Thursday, becoming the sixth West African country to be touched by the worst outbreak on record of the haemorrhagic fever, which has killed nearly 4,900 people.

Mali's Health Minister Ousmane Kone told state television that the patient in the western town of Kayes was a two-year-old girl who had recently arrived from neighbouring Guinea, where the outbreak began.

"The condition of the girl, according to our services, is improving thanks to her rapid treatment," the minister told state television.

A health ministry official, who asked not to be identified, said the girl's mother died in Guinea a few weeks ago and the baby was brought by relatives to the Malian capital Bamako, where she stayed for 10 days in the Bagadadji neighbourhood before heading to Kayes.

A ministry statement said the girl, who came from the Guinean town of Kissidougou, was admitted at the Fousseyni Daou hospital in Kayes on Wednesday night, where she was promptly tested for Ebola.

People who came into contact with the patient in Kayes have been identified and placed under watch, the minister said, but he appealed to any person who believed they may have had contact with the girl to step forward.

The vast majority of the deaths and nearly 10,000 cases of the disease have been in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Small outbreaks also spread to Senegal and Nigeria, Africa's most populous country, but they have since been declared Ebola-free by the WHO.

The official numbers are known to be under-reported and the true death toll may be three times as much, the WHO said this week.

A completely separate outbreak in Democratic Republic of Congo in central Africa also appears to have been contained.
